CanadaVisa Launches High-Wage CRS Calculator

New High‑Wage CRS Calculator — What the LMIF means for Express Entry

On November 3, 2026, IRCC added the Labour Market Integration Factor (LMIF) to the Comprehensive Ranking System. At the same time, CanadaVisa’s CV+ tool was updated so candidates can create a free profile and see their CRS score under the new high‑wage rules.

What the LMIF does
– The LMIF awards additional points linked to high‑wage occupations. Candidates receive the higher of:
– Up to 150 points for qualifying Canadian high‑wage work experience; or
– Up to 100 points for a qualifying high‑wage job offer.
– These points are added on top of existing CRS factors (age, education, language, relatives in Canada, spouse factors, etc.).

Which occupations qualify
– High‑wage points are tied to NOC codes. IRCC’s list includes 186 high‑wage occupations.
– Each listed occupation has a pay threshold of at least 1.3x, 1.5x, or 2x the Canada‑wide median wage; higher multiples earn more points.

Key eligibility rules
– Canadian work experience route: at least 12 months’ consecutive full‑time work in one or more high‑wage occupations within the past 10 years.
– Job offer route: the offer must be full‑time and for at least one year after the candidate becomes a permanent resident.
– NOC coding matters: points depend on the occupation codes entered in your profile.

Using the updated CV+ calculator
– Create or update a CV+ profile in a browser (mobile, desktop, tablet) and the tool will automatically calculate your LMIF‑adjusted CRS score.
– Existing CV+ users with current profiles will see new scores when they log in.
– The calculator provides an estimate; IRCC reviews and verifies all claims during application processing. Continued use of CV+ after checking scores may require payment.

System rollout and profile updates
– IRCC said the LMIF changes were in force on November 3, 2026 but may take up to two weeks to appear across the Express Entry system; invitations were paused during rollout.
– To claim job‑offer points, update your Express Entry profile with the job‑offer details. IRCC’s guidance currently asks candidates to mark the LMIA question as “Yes” and to complete LMIA‑style fields (example placeholders such as LMIA Number 00000 and sample dates have been provided).
– IRCC also said qualifying Canadian high‑wage work experience will be awarded automatically for active, up‑to‑date profiles that already show the required consecutive 12 months.

Practical tips
– Check and correct your NOC codes to match your duties.
– Verify your Canadian work history shows at least 12 consecutive months if you want LMIF work‑experience points.
– If claiming a job offer, enter the job‑offer fields exactly as IRCC instructs so the system can process the points.
– Keep your profile current and be ready to provide documentary evidence if invited to apply.

Remember: the updated calculator is a useful tool to estimate your new CRS, but final points depend on IRCC’s review and documentation. Review your Express Entry profile now to see how the LMIF affects your score.
