Manitoba PNP August 13 draw: 53 LAAs for Skilled Worker Stream — what candidates must know
On August 13, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) issued 53 letters of advice to apply (LAAs) across both pathways of its Skilled Worker Stream. The draw prioritised candidates directly invited through MPNP strategic recruitment initiatives — including Employer Services, Francophone, ethnocultural and regional outreach — and included a small share tied to the now-expired Temporary Public Policy (TPP). Accurate details in your Expression of Interest (EOI) remain essential to convert a pool selection into an LAA.
How this selection was allocated
To be eligible, candidates needed to indicate in their EOI they were invited through an MPNP recruitment mission or the TPP. The 53 LAAs were distributed as follows:
– Employer Services: 15 LAAs (28.3%)
– Francophone Community: 13 LAAs
– Ethnocultural Communities: 12 LAAs
– Regional Communities: 9 LAAs
– TPP (Temporary Public Policy): 4 LAAs
Six of the 53 LAAs went to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code. After this round, Manitoba’s draw count for 2026 is 16. As of August 13, the province has issued 4,875 invitations to apply for provincial nomination through the Skilled Worker Stream.

Who should pay attention
– Candidates in the MPNP EOI pool, especially those invited via strategic recruitment streams or TPP. Check EOI details carefully.
– Express Entry-linked candidates: some LAAs were issued to those with valid Express Entry and job seeker codes.
– Employers and community recruiters in Manitoba: Employer Services received the largest share in this draw.
– Advisors and representatives: review EOIs and application packages to avoid preventable refusals.
Practical impacts and common pitfalls
– Targeted recruitment remains central: invited candidates have a clear route but must keep EOI data accurate.
– Language test IDs and validity matter. Missing/invalid test numbers or expired results can disqualify an otherwise eligible candidate.
– Enhanced nominations are actively used: 886 enhanced nominations were issued Jan–Jun.
– Expect processing time: nearly 11,890 files were in assessment as of June.
– An LAA is not guaranteed to become a nomination — there were 371 refusals among LAA recipients Jan–Jun.
Immediate checks for applicants
– Confirm language test identification numbers and that results are still valid.
– Verify any MPNP invitation numbers entered in your EOI.
– Ensure Express Entry profile numbers and job seeker validation codes (if applicable) are correct.
– Prepare a complete nomination application promptly after receiving an LAA.
Signals to watch
– Frequency and size of strategic recruitment draws (Employer Services, Francophone, ethnocultural, regional).
– Monthly enhanced nomination totals and application processing volumes.
– Refusal patterns to identify common documentation errors.
Final practical advice
– Keep your EOI accurate and up to date.
– Respond quickly and submit a complete nomination application after an LAA.
– Where applicable, ensure your Express Entry details are valid and declared.
– Plan for provincial assessment times when scheduling start dates or moves.
– Learn from refusal causes — preventable documentation issues are a common reason LAAs don’t convert.
